Metabolism in Relation to Temperature In
نویسنده
چکیده
1. A zone of thermoneutrality exists for adult female Myotis thysanodes in early September in an ambient temperature range of 32"5-34"5°C with minimum metabolism of 1"74 cm3/g per hr. 2. A transition from a homeothermic to a non-homeothermic metabolism to ambient temperature relation is evident by late September in adult female M. thysanodes. 3. In early September, some adult female M. yumanensis exhibit a homeo-thermic metabolism to ambient temperature relation while others exhibit a non-homeothermic relation. 4. In early September, adult M. ludfugus occultus of both sexes exhibit a non-homeothermic relation. 5. At ambient temperatures above 32.5°C, metabolism in M. thysanodes increases at a significantly more rapid rate than in M. lucifugus occultus. 6. A critical thermal maximum ambient temperature of 44"5°C has been found for each of these three species.

متن کاملCYP2A6 genetic polymorphism and its relation to risk of smoking dependence in male Iranians
Introduction: Nicotine is the psychoactive substance responsible for establishing and maintaining smoking dependence. CYP2A6 is the primary enzyme that inactivates nicotine to cotinine .Genetic variation in CYP2A6 accounts for some of the inter-individual variability in nicotine metabolism and has been indicated to influence smoking behavior and dependence. Therefore, the aim of this study was ...
متن کاملThe Effects of Turmeric, Cinnamon, Ginger and Garlic Powder Nutrition on Antioxidant Enzymes’ Status and Hormones Involved in Energy Metabolism of Broilers during Heat Stress
This experiment was carried out to determine the effects of turmeric, cinnamon, ginger and garlic powder on mixed sex Cobb-500 broilers performance, serum antioxidant status, and serum thyroid hormones. Heat stresses were created by increasing ambient temperature to 32-34 ˚C from 12: a.m. to 16: p.m. during days 31-42 of the experiment. Blood serum samples were obtained from 6 broilers of each ...
